"Andrew Schoultz Awesome Mural X Pow! Wow! Hawaii 2014." Urbanite. N.p., 19 Feb. 2014. Web. 22 Apr. 2016.
The Ties Between Environment and Modern ArtPow! Wow! Hawaiʻi is responsible for a lot of the art in Kakaʻako and some of their pieces include nature. This in turn can enhance the raw look of Kakaʻako and Hawaiʻi. After the completion of Salt, our team will make sure that in the midst of the urbanization, visitors will still be able to remember the lands that once stood where Kakaʻako is today. Pedestrians will peacefully stroll through the modern buildings but also get a taste of native plants. This allows us to give a more naturally enhanced look.

Kakaʻako : Then and NowThe blue line on the map to the far left represents the original coastline in Honolulu. The orange shows areas that were artificially built up using a combination of trash and reef from Sand Island. The area was filled in so local businesses would have a place to house their headquarters as well as allow opportunities for urbanization.
